Mucocele of the appendix: Preoperative ultrasonographic diagnosis

Abstract

Mucocele of the appendix, is an uncommon clinical entity, characterized by distention of the appendix as a result of mucus collection in the lumen. In this re¬port, we describe two cases of appendiceal mucocele with different formation me¬chanisms in which the ultrasonography found to be practical imaging method to approach the diagnosis.
