A case of hair casts with scanning electron microscopic findings (Uncommon type: Idiopathic peripilar keratin casts)

Abstract

Hair casts ' is a condition, which is relatively rarely reported but well known. Although it can be misdiag¬nosed as pediculosis capitis by some unexperienced physicians, it does not represent a major diagnostic prob¬lem. On the other hand microscopic and SEM findings hadn't been previously reported. In this report, we dis¬cussedourpatientbeyondtheclinical findingswithlightandSEMmicroscopic results.
