Abstract

Although secondary leukemia risk is enhanced following cytotoxic therapy for lung cancer,the coexistence of AML and squamous cell lung Cancer is very rare. We report here a patient who suffered from de novo acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) and squamous cell lung cancer simultaneously. After the achievement of complete remission for AML , lung cancer was treated witfr radiotherapy.Exposure to asbestos,known as an etiologic agent both for lung cancer and AML, is also interesting in this case.
