Abstract

Dilatation of pulmonary artery rarely reaches to aneurysmal proportions. Once pulmonary artery aneurysm occurs, it carries an additional risk due to the associated pulmonary hypertension. A twelve year old girl with pulmonary aneurysm secondary to pulmonary hypertension and increased flow into the pulmonary vascular bed due to ventricular septal defect (VSD), atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) was treated by aneurysmorrhaphy and closure of the associated VSD, ASD, and PDA. The etiology, diagnostic investigation and surgical management of pulmonary artery aneurysms are discussed in the present report.
