Abstract

Although coracoid fractures are rare fractures, their treatmentis critical as they form the coracoacromial arch and superiorshoulder suspensory complex (SSSC), which are importantstructures for shoulder biomechanics. In this case series, clinical, radiological, and demographic characteristics ofthree male patients who received treatment due to coracoidfracture presenting with traumatic injuries were discussed. Thefractures were classified according to the Ogawa and Eyresclassifications, and fracture fixation was achieved surgicallywith the cannulated screws. All patients had a right coracoidfracture. The Constant–Murley Score and the Disabilities ofthe Arm, Shoulder and Hand scores the patients in the finalfollow-up visit at 12 months were calculated. In conclusion, good clinical and functional outcomes can be achieved byanatomical reduction and fixation through surgery for displacedcoracoid fractures presenting with multiple traumatic injurieslocated in multiple regions of the SSSC.
