Özet

Büyük Menderes çöküntüsünde oluşuk sınırlarını belirleyen kırıklar, doğal uçlaşma (SP) (natural electro - thermal and electro - filtration polarization potential) belirti ile açık bir uyuşum içinde görülmektedir. Bölgede kırıkların sıcak suları yukarıya taşımada yol görevi yapması ve sıcak basınçlı, (belki de devingen) su içeren su yollarının üzerinde doğal uçlaşmanın soğuk yerlere göre daha büyük (> 100 mV) değerlere ulaşması, sıcak ve soğuk yerlerin ayırt edilmesini sağlamıştır. Sıcak bölgeye yaklaştıkça gerilimin türev değerinin artmasının yanısıra, duyarlılığı bozularak artan genlikte (±1 den + 5 mV/m'e değin) duyarsız (değişken) bir gürültü bindiği izlenmiştir. Germencik - Ömerbeyli dolayında SP dalga boyları 2 km'yi bulmaktadır. Ölçüler bölgede doğu-batı doğrultusunda kırılmaların olduğunu ve bunların 80°-90° arası dalmalarla 1000 metreye varan atımları içerdiklerini, K-G doğrultulu kırıklarla kesildiklerini belirtmektedir. En sıcak yerler bu kırıkların kesişme kavşaklarıdır.

Abstract

Considerabyl good correlation exists between the natural polarization (electro-thermal and electro-filtration) anomalies and faults or tectonic borders along the Büyük Menderes graben formation boundaries. It is possible to set apart heat-induced imbalance of cold and hot sections by consideration of amplitudes and polarities of the natural polarization fluctuations which rise over 100 mV on the hoter places, with respect to the colder sites. Such discontinuities may function as hot water conduits for geothermal water circulation towards the surface. While the observation cross passing the alterated zones, there occurred an interesting noise, on the electrical polarization, with amplitudes varying between (±1 to ± 5 mV/m) caused by unexplained source. Dipolar natural polarization anomalies of about 100 mV peak — to - trough amplitudes and nearly 2 km peak - to - trough lengths has been measured in a few survey lines in east - west direction at Germencik - Ömerbeyli region. The anomalies do not appear to be related to surface feauteres. Measurements indicate that besides E-W extending fractures, there also exist faults in N-S direction which have estimated westward dipping of 80° to 90° and offset of 1000 meters. Hotest places are junctions or inter-sections of E-W and N-S trending fault zones.
