Abstract

Many developments in the socio-politicalstructure of Greek poleis in Asia Minor duringthe Imperial Age were shaped within theframework of the regulations between local anduniversal practices. These developments can befollowed in the structural change of the boule with the boards and offices such as dekaproteia, logistai and eirenarchia which were introducedto the management culture of the settlementswith the Roman rule. In this social and politicaltransformation, the local aristocracy, which wasactivated by Rome, has an important place.Members of this noble class were supported bythe Roman administration in having a say inpolitical institutions and assuming high-levelpublic positions. In the study, the effects of localnobility in the local government order in theRoman Imperial Age were examined, and theinstitutional transformation process in theadministrative structure of the poleis wasevaluated.
