Abstract
Aim: This study aims to present the developmental stages of the new sling systems. Method: This study was conducted between March 2012 and May 2015 in an Obstetrics and Pediatrics Research and Training Hospital in the city of Istanbul. In the study, according to aspects that had failed, the design and prototype production of the new project apparatus were performed. After the innovative product was developed, a patent was acquired and the patient application phase was initiated after acquiring the necessary permissions. The study comprised 60 patients (30 in the study group and 30 in the control group) and 30 employees. The SPSS 17.0 program was used in the evaluation of the study results. Findings: Within the context of the project, two different innovative sling systems were designed that had not yet been used in our country or abroad. The first of these is the Shoulder Integrated Serum Sling that would be used in serum applications and the second is the Leg Integrated Foley Catheter Sling that would remove mobilization concerns. When the results of the second application were evaluated, the satisfaction levels of the study group (96.4%) were found to be very high compared to the control group (46.6%). No complications were reported in carrying the invasive treatment tools, and it was determined that patient comfort increased, that nurses had positive views on the sling systems used, and that the nurses had high satisfaction levels (93.4%). The difference between the sling system satisfaction rates was found to be statistically significant (p
