Özet

Bu makalede, Belgrad‟ın Osmanlılar tarafından fetih sürecindeki önemli kilometre taşları ve konuyla ilgili temel olaylar ele alınmaktadır. Söz konusu meselenin detayına geçmeden önce Belgrad‟ın Osmanlı hâkimiyetinden önceki tarihi hakkında genel bir çerçeve sunulacak, daha sonra Osmanlıların şehri ele geçirme teşebbüsleri ve nihayet 1521‟de fethi, temelde Osmanlı kaynaklarına dayalı olarak incelenecektir. Makalenin son bölümünde ise Belgrad‟ın Osmanlı askerî ve sosyo ekonomik tarihi bakımından önemi üzerinde durulacaktır.

Abstract

In this article, the milestones and basic events concerning the conquest of Belgrade by Ottomans have been pointed out. Before dealing with the details of the topic, a general framework on the pre-ottoman history of Belgrade is going to be presented. Then Ottomans‟ attempts to capture the city and the conquest of Belgrade in 1521 are going to be examined by mainly relying on the Ottoman sources. In the final part of the article, the importance of Belgrade, from the points of the military and socio-economic history of the Ottoman Empire, is going to be evaluated.
