Özet
Bu çalışmada, üretim için önemlibir girdi olan enerjinin fiyatındameydana gelen değişiminTürkiye’nin üretim ve istihdamdüzeyine etkisinin incelenmesiamaçlanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, petrol fiyatlarıile sanayi üretim endeksi ve işsizlik arasındakiilişki simetrik, asimetrik ve zamanla değişennedensellik testleri kullanılarak Türkiyeekonomisi için 2006: 1 – 2018: 12 aylık veri setiyardımıyla sınanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular,petrol fiyatlarının sanayi üretim endeksi veişsizliği etkilediğini göstermektedir. Ancakpetrol fiyatlarının sanayi üretim endeksineetkisinin işsizliğe kıyasla daha güçlü olduğutespit edilmiştir.
Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to study the effect of changes occurring in the price of energy that is an important input for production on Turkey's production and employment levels. In this context, relationships between oil prices and the industrial production index, oil prices and unemployment is tested using symmetrical, asymetric and time varying causality test for 2006: 1 - 2018: 12 month period. According to the findings, oil prices have an effect on the industrial production index and unemployment. However, it has been found that the impact of oil prices on the industrial production index is stronger than unemployment.
