Abstract

In this study, the effect of different preimpres-sion methods and type of dental gypsum pro¬ducts on the occlusal reproductions quality of the teeth on the cast were evaluated. Three different preimpression preparations( painted the irreversible hidrocolloid onto occlusal sur¬face of teeth, smooted with a wet finger irre¬versible hidrocolloid, and the control group was no applied any preimpression preparati¬on) and two types gypsum products (dental stone, plasther) were used. Total 30 (15 den¬tal stone and 15 plasther) lower dental arch impressions were taken from the same patient who has optimal oral hygenie and complete tooth archs. Plaster and dental stone were po¬ured into impressions under slight vibration. Stereomicroscope was used to count the num¬ber of bubbels on the occlusal surface of pre¬molars and molars. In statistical evaluation, the analysis of variance was used. In the result, the smooted impression tecnique was found to be the best method for decreasing macrosco¬pic defects on the occlusal surface of the cast.
