Anne ve baba eğitim düzeylerinin yetişme çağındaki çocukların ağız bakım alışkanlıklarına etkisi

Özet
Bu çalışma, Ankara il merkezinde bulunan sekiz farklı ilköğretim okulu Il. kademede öğrenim görmekte olan, yaşları 11-13 arasında değişen 1119 öğrencide gerçekleştirilmiştir. Anne ve baba eğitim düzeylerinin yetişme çağındaki çocukların ağız bakım alışkanlıklarına etkisinin araştırıldığı bu çalışmada, öğrencilerde diş fırçalama sıklığı, yardımcı araç kullanımı, dişlerinden şikayetçi olduklarında uyguladıkları yöntem, dişhekimine kontrol amacı ile gitme sıklığı, tedavi ya da kontrol amacı ile götürülen dişhekiminin çalıştığı yerin seçimi, koruyucu dişhekimliği hakkındaki bilgilerinin öğrenilmesi için bir anket formu düzenlenerek dağıtılmıştır. Elde edilen verilere göre anne ve babanın eğitim düzeyi arttıkça; çocuklarda diş fırçalama, yardımcı araç kullanma, dişhekimine götürülme sıklığının arttığı görülmüştür. Fakat anne ve baba eğitim düzeylerinin çocukların koruyucu dişhekimliği hakkındaki bilgilerine etkisinin olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak; anne ve baba eğitim düzeyinin çocukların ağız bakım alışkanlıklarının kazanılmasında en önemli etkenlerden biri olduğu, anne ve baba eğitim düzeyi arttıkça kazanılan ağız bakımı alışkanlıklarında bir gelişmenin kaydedildiği görülmüştür.
Abstract
This study was between 1119 students in the age of 11-13 and who were at the second stage of the eight different primary schools. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the education levels of the parents on the oral hygiene habits of the children. A survey form was arranged to find out the frequency of tooth brushing and using aiding tools, the methods applied when the children had a problem about their teeth, frequency of going to dentist for controls, the preferences about the working places of the dentist who would examine or control the children and the effects of the information level of the students about preventive dentistry. According to the data obtained from this survey it was seen that as the education levels of the parents increased, the frequency of the tooth brushing, using aiding tools and being taken to the dentist of the children increased also. But the education level of the parents has no effect on the information levels of the childen about the preventive dentistry. As a result; it was seen that the education levels of the parents were one of the most important criterias showing how the children got their oral hygiene habits and as the education levels of the parents rose, the oral hygiene habits of the children got better.
