120 adet Kavo dişe standart boyutlarda DO kaviteler açıldı.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of variation of two matrix systems and placement of composites upon the effecüueness polymerization of three composite resins indirectly by hardness testing. A standardized DO cavity was prepared in 120 Kavo teeth. 120 teeth uıere filled in the same Kavo model using 3 composite resins (Surefil, Solitaire, Charisma) and two matrix systems (transparent, stainless steel) and two placement technigues bulk, incremental). The teeth were divided into 12 gro-ups. The degree of polymerization was assessed indirectly by Knoop hardness testing at each tooth at three different areas. Bulk placement of Condensable composites with stainless steel matrix caused inadeguate polymerization at deepest part of the cavity. KHN of composite resins at occlusal level with both matrix system and both placement technigue was not statistically different. At deeper parts of the cavites when bulk placement was made, the KHNs were statistically higher in transparent matriks system than stainless steel matrix system. incremental placement of composite resins in both matrix systems significantly increased KHNs at deeper parts of the cavity when compared with bulk placement at same levels.
