Anlamlılık düzeyi a = 0.05 olarak alınmıştır.

Abstract

Objective: In the present study, it was aimed to evaluate a flowable polyacid-modified resin composite used as pit and fissure sealant, (Dyract® Flow, Dentsply DeTrey.GmbH, Konstanz, Germany), with different acid etching times in primary teeth in regard to retention and caries development. Materials and Methods: In the study, 124 pit and fissure sealants in 30 patients were done after 15 seconds acid etching in group 1 and 30 seconds in group 2 followed by the application of a bonding agent (Prime & Bond NT, Dentsply DeTrey.GmbH, Konstanz, Germany). After 3 months 120 restorations and after 6 and 12 months 116 restorations were evaluated with respect to retention and caries development. The data was statistically evaluated with Chi-square test. The level of significance set as a - 0.05. Results: A total of 3 restoration loss was detected throughout the study. No statistically significant differences were found in all evaluation periods with regard to retention and caries development between two groups (p>0.05) Conclusion: Within the limitations of the study, it was concluded that the acid etching times of 15 and 30 seconds can be clinically usable to reduce the chair time especially in child patients in flowable compomer pit and fissure sealant applications.
