Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, rubber-dam'in (RD) hastalar tarafından ne derece kabul gördüğünü saptamak ve RD hakkındaki düşüncelerini öğrenmektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Stajyer öğrenciler (Grup A) ve doktora öğrencileri (Grup B) tarafından endodontik tedavi gören hastalara uygulanan bir anket hazırlandı. Grup A'dan 106, Grup B'den ise 94 olmak üzere toplam 200 adet geri bildirim alındı. Bütün veriler SPSS 10.0 versiyonu ile ki-kare (%2 ) ve t-testi istatistiksel yöntemleri kullanılarak analiz edildi. Bulgular: Çalışmanın sonuçları istatistiksel olarak değerlendirildi. %2 testi gruplar arasında gelecek sefer hastaların RD tercihi yönünden önemli bir fark olduğunu göstermiş, Grup B'deki hastalar daha çok tercih ederken Grup A'dakiler daha fazla kararsız kalmışlardır (%2=22.957, p=0.00). Gruplar arasında, mevcut deneyim açısından da önemli bir fark olup Grup B'deki hasta grubu uygulamayı daha rahat bulmuştur (x2=8.892, p=0.003). Gruplar arasında, cinsiyet, daha önceki RD uygulaması, hastaya açıklama yapılıp yapılmaması ve çalışma süreleri açısından da istatistiksel olarak bir fark bulunamamıştır. RD'i uygulama süresi yönünden ise fark anlamlı olup, Grup Ada 3.77 dakika, Grup B'de ise 2.39 dakika olarak bulunmuştur (t=5.565, p=0.00). Sonuç: Grup A ve Grup B'de rahat olan hastaların büyük bir çoğunluğunun gelecek sefer RD uygulamasını tercih ettikleri görülmüştür.
