Özet

Tonsillektomi operasyonu için genel anestezi altında endotrakeal entübasyon ve manuel ventilasyon uygulanan 3 yaşındaki sağlıklı kız çocuk olguda erken postoperatif dönemde ciltaltı amfizemi, sağ pnömotoraks ve pnömoperiton gelişti. Olay muhtemelen pozitif basınçlı ventilasyona bağlı idi. Endotrakeal entübasyonun çok nadir görülen bu komplikasyonunun erken tanınması geri dönüşümü olmayan serebral hasarın gelişimini engelleyebilir

Abstract

In the early postoperative period, a 3-year-old, healthy female subject developed subcutaneous emphysema, right-sided pneumothorax and pneumoperitoneum following endotracheal intubation and manual ventilation during general anesthesia for tonsillectomy. It was likely due to the positive pressure ventilation. Early recognition of this rare complication could prevent the development of irreversible cerebral damage.
