Eagle sendromunun primer tedavisi cerrahidir. Stiloid proses intraoral veya eksternal yaklaşımla kısaltılır. Kliniğimizde intraoral yaklaşım ile opere ettiğimiz 42 yaşındaki kadın hasta literatür bilgisi ışığında sunulmuştur

Abstract

Eagle's syndrome occurs related to an elongated styloid process or calcified stylohyoid ligament. Major symptoms are recurrent throat pain, foreign body sensation in the throat, dysphagia, otalgia, and facial pain. Watt Eagle described it for the first time in 1937. The incidence of elongated styloid process in the population has been reported to be 4 %, and 4 % of them present with clinical symptoms. The treatment of Eagle's syndrome is primarily surgical. The styloid process can be shortened through an intraoral or external approach. We present a 42 year- old woman with elongated styloid process operated in pour clinic in the light of the current literature.
