Özet

Transfusion associated infection is one of the major complications of radical operations. Although malaria is rare in European countries as well as in Turkey, it still has the potential to be transmitted by transfusion. Donor blood screening for malaria is not routinely carried out in Turkey. The characteristic clinical features of the disease must arouse the suspicion of malaria in a patient with the history transfusion.
