Karnofsky skalasına göre fizik performans %90 (n= 332) olguda %70'in üzerinde değerlendirildi.

Abstract

In the study we were intended to collect information on demographics in elderly patient with cancer. Age, genitality, tumor characteristics, socieconomic status, cognitive status, depression, physical performance, coexisting disease of cases who applied for treatment to the Department of Oncology of Radiation in Atatürk University, School of Medicine between January 1996 and November 1999, were evalua-ted from the patient files. Between 50-59 age group, incidence of cancer is %16 in women. But after 60 age group, the incidence is %30 in men after age 70 incidence is decrease parallel with population. %44 of all cancer occur in people 60-69 age group. In our study group; socieconomic status was low percentage (%60). %80 of patients were depressive and physical performance was higher then expected. Although Lung ca has been seen in equal ratio male and female in developed country; in our study %99 was male and half of all breast cancer was age of 40-49 age group. In our country; there is little investigation with elderly patient. The purpose of this retrospective study examine the profile of elderly patient with cancer. We hope this study will be inspired another wide studies
