Marmara Denizi tortullarının kuaterner mollusk faunası (Türkiye)

Özet

Bu çalışmada Marmara Denizi güneyinde farklı lokalitelerden alınan kazı örneklerinden pelecypod, gastropod ve scaphopod türleri tanımlanarak, sistematik düzenlemeleri yapılmıştır. Mevcut örneklerin paleocoğrafik yayılımları tespit edilmiş ve Akdeniz faunasının hakim olduğu, ancak Karadeniz faunasının da zengin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Denizel formların yanısıra tatlı su örneklerine, ayrıca denizde yaşamaya uyum sağlayabilen tatlı su örneklerine de rastlanmıştır. Bu veriler ışığında Marmara denizinin paleoekolojisi yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır.

Abstract

In this study, grab samples taken from southern part of Marmara Sea were investigated. Pelecypod, gastropod and scaphopod species determined and arranged systematically. Paleogeographic distributions of the fauna studied and it is found that most of them belonging to Mediteranean Sea. In addition, very rich Black Sea fauna have been observed. It is also found that marine forms together with some fresh water species which are competible to the marine conditions. Paleogeography and paleoecology of the Marmara Sea were interpreted according to these datas.
