Özet

Maden (Bayburt) yöresinde oldukça dar bir alanda (Sırataşlar Tepe) yüzeylenen resifal kireçtaşları (Kapıkaya Formasyonu) başlıca bol Hippurit, Akteonella, Hermatipik Mercan ve Ekinid topluluğu içerir. Tektonik olarak aktif bir zonda gelişen Maden yöresi resifal birikimleri başlıca Hippurit ve Mercanlardan (Hippurites sulcatoides Douville, Hippurites sp., Vaccinites ultimus Milovanovic, Joufina cappadociensis (Cox), Sabinia sp., Acteonella sp., Hematipik mercan) oluşan resif çekirdeği, mikritik matriksli Miliolid ve Valvulinli çamurtaşı-istiftaşı altfasiyesindeki çökellerin geliştiği resif gerisi ve resif döküntülerinin oluştuğu resif önü alt ortamlarının belirgin özelliklerini sunarlar. Yöre jeolojisinin Mezosoyik sürecindeki gelişimi başlıca ilk riftleşme fan (Liyas), tektonik sakinlik dönemi (Dogger-Malm), ikinci riftleşme fazı (Alt-Orta Kretase) ve sıkışma dönemi (Üst Kretase) olmak üzere dört ayrı olayla şekillenmiştir. Geç Kretase'de sıkışma tektoniğine bağlı olarak yükselen alanlarda Maden resifal kireçtaşı birikimi sağlanmıştır.

Abstract

Reef-Limestones are known from in the reaches of Maden (Bayburt) in the Eastern Pontide tectonic unit of the North-eastern Turkey. They belong to a transgressive sequence which was deposited in a tectonically high active region. Microfacies characteritics of this limestone shows that they deposited in the back-reef lagoon, core and fore-reef sub-environment. Their basement is the ophiolithic melange of the Lower-Middle (?) Cretaceous and are overlain by the Erekli formation of the Eocene. The Rudist-beds are followed by and laterally grade into flysch-type siliciclastic deposits of the Upper Cretaceous Kapıkaya formation. A section at Sırataşlar ridge has been studied in detail. The Rudist-beds contain Hipurites solcatoides Douville, Hippurites sp., Vaccinites ultimus Milovanovic, Joufina cappadociensis (Cox), Sabinia sp., Acteonella sp.,Hermatypic Corals and Echinoid indicate Maastrichtian age. Evoluation of the investigated area during Mesozoic involves four-stages: first rifting phase (Lias), calm tectonic period (Dogger-Malm),second rifting phase (Lower-Middle Cretaceous) and compressional regime (Upper Cretaceous). The Maden reef-limestone developed in period uplifted of the studied area in which compressional tectonic regime is affect during Upper Cretaceous.
