Abstract

Tests were carried out to determine the effects of wood moisture to tensile strength "T" joints which are used frequently on frame construction of furniture. Specimens were constructed of yellow pine (Pinus sylvestris Lipsky), oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) and oak (Quercus borealis Lipsky) and were assembled with dowels appropriateness of mass production. In the tests, the grooved dowels were used and constructed of oriental beech wood and measured 8 mm djameter, by 36 mm long. A total of 72 specimens that included three different wood and two different wood moisture with a number of 12 example groups were tested for tensile strength under static load. As a results of variance analysis, the effect of wood moisture on the strength of joints was considered important with a confidience level of percentage 5. According to the results oftest, the strength were carried out in order a performance among of wood types oak, beech and pine. Increase of the moisture was caused to diminish for tensile strength.
