Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effects of different polymerization techniques (conventional and pulse-delay) and shades to curing depths of three different composite resins. Material and Methods: Different shades of two hybrid composite resins (Filtek Z250 and Tetric Ceram) and an ormocer based composite resin (Admira) were used to prepare cylindirical specimens, 4 mm in diameter and 6 mm in depth. The specimens were polymerized with using either conventional or pulse-delay technique. The unpolymerized soft material at the bottom surfaces of the specimens were scraped with a plastic scalpel until reaching the hard material as described in ISO 4049. The polymerized material’s thickness was measured with a micrometer and 50% of this value was recorded as depth of cure. Results: No significant differences was observed between two polymerization techniques for all shades of Tetric Ceram and Admira (except A1) (p>0.05), however there were significant differences between two polymerization techniques for all shades of Filtek Z250 (except C2) (p
