Abstract

One of the most important factors influencing the clinical success is the cement film thickness beneath full crowns, after the cementation.Hereby, within this investigation, preparing the abut¬ment tooth in different preparation convergence ang¬le and marginal configurations has been researched considering the influence over the occlusal cement film thickness in the full crown applications. At six different marginal configurations with 4, 10 and 20 degree preparation convergence angle, 20 pieces of brass crown sample for each group have been prepared and epoxy-resin dies have been poured di¬rectly into boxed crowns. Both of the group samples embedded into the acrylic and they have been cut through the direction of diameter and the cement film thickness remained on the occlusal surface has been measured and recorded. The results evaluated as statistically by using of analysis of Variance and dun-can Test. Within this research the influence of the preparation convergence angle and marginal configurations, sup¬posed as indefendent parameters, over the cement film thickness have been ascertained as statistically significant. It's observed that, as the peraparation convergence angle increased, the cement film thick¬ness decreased. With regard seating of the restoration, the knifeedge demostrated the best seat the largest occlusal ce¬ment film thickness values have been found with the 90-degree chamfer and the 90-degree shoulder with 30 degree bevel.
