Bilişim Teknolojisi Öğretmeni Adaylarının Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutumlarının Değerlendirilmesi

Evaluation of Prospective Information Technology Teachers' Attitudes towards Teaching Profession

Özet

Bu araştırma ile Gazi Üniversitesi'nde bulunan üç farklı fakültedeki Bilişim Teknolojisi Öğretmenliği bölümlerinin 4. sınıfında okuyan öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarını farklı değişkenler açısından incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2012-2013 öğretim yılında Gazi Üniversitesi Endüstriyel Sanatlar Eğitim Fakültesi Bilgisayar Eğitimi Bölümü, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi Bölümü ve Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi Elektronik-Bilgisayar Eğitimi Bölümüne devam eden toplam 330 öğrenciden oluşmakta olup çalışma grubunun %77'sine ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma ile öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum puanlarının cinsiyet, mezun oldukları lise, öğrenim gördükleri fakülte değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaşmadığı belirlenmiştir. Öğrenim gördükleri bölümü isteyerek seçen toplam öğretmen adayları ile isteyerek seçmeyenlerin mesleğe yönelik tutum puanları arasında da anlamlı bir fark bulunmazken fakültelere göre Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi öğretmen adaylarının arasında bölümü isteyerek seçenler lehine anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Ayrıca toplam ve ayrı ayrı her üç fakültedeki öğretmen adaylarının mesleğe yönelik tutum puanlarının mezun olunca öğretmenlik yapmak isteme değişkenine göre anlamlı bir biçimde farklılaştığı, farkın öğretmenlik mesleği yapmak isteyen öğretmen adaylarının lehine olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Abstract

The current study aims at examining the attitudes of fourth-year students attending computer teaching departments of three different faculties in Gazi University towards teaching profession with regards to different variables. The population of the study consists of 330 students attending the computer teaching departments of the following faculties in Gazi University: Industrial Arts Faculty; Education Faculty and Technical Education Faculty. 77 % of this population is involved in the study as participants. The results of the study reveals that the attitude points of the prospective computer teachers are not significantly different according to the variables "sex, the high school they graduated from, and the faculty they attend. Similarly, there is not a significant difference between the attitude points of the participants who willingly selected the department and those who were reluctant in choosing their current department. However; as for the faculties, a significant difference is found between the attitude points of the prospective teachers attending Gazi Education Faculty with regards to reluctance or willingness in the selection of the department. Finally; overall and individual attitude points in each three faculties significantly differ according to variable of "willingness to work as a teacher after the graduation" and here the difference is found to be in favor of the prospective teachers who are willing to work as teacher after graduation.
