Abstract
The aim of the this study was to investigate the effect of weaving studies on children’s two-handed use and hand-eye coordination skills. Within the scope of the research, weaving education program, which is supplemented to the regular curriculum programs of the children in the 6 years old group, who are going on to the preschool education institutions, was developed and the effectiveness of this program was evaluated. Eighty children were included in the sample of the research conducted experimentally. The experiment was planned as an experimental design and Solomon four-group model was used. The children in the experimental groups were given weaving training for 3 hours a week for 12 weeks in addition to their experiences in the education institution they attended. Children in the control groups continued their daily education programs created by their teachers. "Child Information Card", "Frostig Visual Perception Test", "Automatic Mirror Tracer Test" and "Automatic Two-Hand Coordination Test" were implemented as data collection tools in the research. According to research findings; the "Mirror Tracer" and "Two-Hand Coordination" tests were found to have a significant difference in error scores and test completion times in favor of children receiving weaving training.
