Abstract
History is a science that examines important events in the past within the scope of cause and effect. While studying these events, the science of history not only illuminates a part of the past, but also ensures that the evaluations made about the present and the future are built on solid foundations. History is also the memory of a nation. National memory and national identity are interrelated. States have intervened in history education to create a common historical unity and ideal unity while creating and developing their national identity through history education and training. For many years, the science of history has been the mediator of political structures for the development of their national identity. The science of history has begun to lose its most important parameter, such as neutrality, due to the effect of this situation. One of the tools preferred by political powers in the past and today to achieve their goals is the science of history. The aim of the article is to examine the chronological development of Turkish Cypriot history education and its current situation. For this purpose, primary and secondary sources were searched using qualitative research method. In this context, documents in both the Presidential Republic Archive and the National Archive and Research Department in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) were examined, secondhand sources and written media were used.
