Development of Context-Based Achievement Test on Pure Substance, Mixture and the Separation of Mixtures Topics

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı 7. sınıf fen bilimleri dersi saf maddeler, karışımlar ve karışımların ayrılmasıkonularına yönelik yaşam temelli başarı testi geliştirmektir. Araştırma yöntemi olarak taramayönteminin kullanıldığı çalışmada ilk olarak ilgili konunun kazanımları doğrultusunda belirtketablosu hazırlanarak, 25 sorudan oluşan madde havuzu oluşturulmuştur. Uzman görüşleridoğrultusunda kapsam geçerliği sağlanan testin görünüş geçerliğini incelemek üzere pilotuygulaması 7. sınıfta öğrenim gören 18 öğrenciye uygulanarak yapılmıştır. Daha sonra iki ayrıortaokulun 7. sınıfında öğrenim gören toplam 199 öğrenciye uygulanarak testin asıl uygulamasıyapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilere madde analizi, madde-toplam puan korelasyon analizi ve altgrup-üst grup ortalama farkına dayalı madde analizi yapılmıştır. Bu analizler sonucu toplamdokuz soru testten çıkarılmıştır. Testin KR-20 güvenirlik katsayısı değeri 0.71 olarakhesaplanmıştır. Sonuç olarak çoktan seçmeli, dört seçenekli ve 16 yaşam temelli sorudan oluşanyaşam temelli başarı testi geliştirilmiştir.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop an achievement test consisting of context-based questions on pure substances, mixtures and the separation of mixtures topics in 7th grade science lesson. In the study, which used survey method as the research method, firstly a table of specifications was prepared in line with the gains of the related subject and a pool of 25 items was formed. In order to examine the appearance validity of the test, which was provided with scope validity in accordance with expert opinions, pilot application was applied to 18 students in 7th grade. Then, the test was applied to 199 students in 7th grade of two different secondary schools for actual application of the test. Item analysis, item-total correlation analysis and item analysis based on the subgroup-top group mean difference were performed to obtained data. As a result of these analyses, a total of nine questions were excluded from the test. The KR-20 reliability coefficient of the test was calculated as 0.71. As a result, a context-based achievement test consisting of multiple choice, four choice and 16 context-based questions was developed.
