Erendiz Atasü Romancılığı ve Bir Yaş Dönümü Rüyası

Abstract

The article is firstly a study of the fiction of Erendiz Atasü a major contemporary woman novelist who has successfully switched to novel writing from short story writing. Her recent novel Bir Yaş Dönümü Rüyası (A Middle Age Dream) while it follows the technical structural innovations of the contemporary Western novel, is an analysis of a certain period in Turkey's social history, the years between the 70's and 90's, therefore may be termed a period novel. It uses Reşat Nuri Güntekin's earlier novel Çalıkuşu as a sub-text, to comment on the characters and events of the period she is writing about.
