Abstract
Considered as one of the most significant works of the theatre of the absurd of the years 50, Waiting for Godot of Samuel Beckett inspires to Ferhan Şensoy, actor and contemporary turkish playwright, his first play entitled Goodbye Godot, play which its interest consists in its easy, ironic and interesting verve. Nourished widely on language field by Beckett, Şensoy animates Goodbye Godot by references to the political and social events of the years 1980, from where this provocative and farcesque figuration of Godot symbolizing through a Beckett’s way of speech the stupid and cruel tyranny of the putsch of 1980.
