Küçük Prens ve İnsan İçin Üç Farklı Yaşama Tarzı

Abstract

This article examines three different lifestyles from the standpoint of philosophy and ethics in A. de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince. One of these lifestyles, 'Living with the awareness of the value of the human being' represented by the Little Prince and the Pilot. * The other two lifestyles are two different types of the "Memorized Lifestyle" practiced by grown-ups. One type is the "Memorized Lifestyle with No Goals", exemplified by the characters of the Tippler and die Conceited Man. The other, the "Memorized Lifestyle with a Specified Goal", is demonstrated by the characters of the King, the Businessman, the Lamplighter and the Scholar/Geographer. Moreover, this article discusses the philisophical aspects of the steps to be taken towards a way of life and friendship, the meaning of being responsible in love, the conditions in the human world under which these values can be purely practiced and the life presented in Tloe Little Prince.
