Abstract
This work presents the role of objects in “new fantastic literature’’. Are they, like in the wonder literature, only the simple accessories which help the hero in his quest? Or do they write in the tradition of the supernatural of the 19th century and do they appear like the “objects – phenomena”, that are always sinister adversaries of the hero? The corpus of short stories is derived from modern fantastic literature in French (from France, Belgium and Québec)
