Abstract

The French contemporary dramatic art is marked by the variety of plays, mostly written starting from the 70’s.The theater of Jean-Luc Lagarce is situated in the lineage of these texts which propose without any contesting, a difference both in the theatrical form and the use of the language. Precisely, the aim of this article is to study some specific characteristics of the intertextual practices in Error of Construction, first play written by Jean-Luc Lagarce, died prematurely in 1995 who is one of the play writer the most played in France actually. In this context, this paper analyzes the relation between Error of construction and The bold soprano of Eugène Ionesco, author of the “theater of the absurd “ who played in a very obvious way with the notions of the classic dramatic art in plays, reflecting the situation of the man in an incoherent world, without any meaning. Through the presence and the function of the intertextuality, we will try to underline the potentiality ot the theatrical writing suggested by Lagarce. With this first play, we see that Lagarce begins his dramaturgic life by having a dialogue with Eugène Ionesco, author who he likes and appreciates his theater
