Abstract
One of the most compelling features of Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, mostly known as the Fisherman of Halicarnassus is the ability to watch the present day world through the twilight of mythological thought. Mythological thought carries vital importance in the integration of the individual and society with its primal being and the perception of the universe through this perspective. In his sixth book entitled The Mediterranean - the Sixth Continent the Fisherman of Halicarnassus has reinterpreted Mediterranean mythology and symbols. The aim of the following research is to explain how the mythology-symbolism-reality triangle was utilized in The Mediterranean- the Sixth Continent and to portray the Mediterranean as it exists in myths. This could also lead to conclusion that mythological thought is continuous
