Abstract

Tuğrul İnal continues to investigate the basic principles of Baudelaire’s philosophy through his works Le Spleen de Paris and Les Fleurs du Mal with the Empathy method. İnal fictionalizes Baudelaire’s texts as a poetic monologue through the Empathy method. This method which can be used in plays, poetry and stories is a rewriting process based on a work of fiction, and re-forms the text on the axis of imagery, reality and subjectivity. The secondary new narrative is a paradigmatic text formulated on the projection of the original. The reality of the original is converted into a narrative and theatrical meta-reality. Thus, the dichotomies of good-evil, rise-fall, and the beautythe beast are discussed in the context of the figures of God, the Devil and Woman. The writer of the second text is the narrator and the producer. The second text which has a symphonic poetic style is composed of three parts: Dreams and Passions, Praise and Ridicule for the Loved One, and the final part Tension and Pain.
