Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, düzenli spor yapan ve yapmayan 13-17 yaşları arasındaki adolesanlarda esneklik test sonuçlarını yaş gruplarına ve cinsiyete göre karşılaştırmaktı. Gereç ve yöntem: Çalışmaya, 13-17 yaşları arasında düzenli spor yapan ve yapmayan 160 kız 160 erkek toplam 320 sağlıklı birey alındı. Farklı ilköğretim ve lise düzeyi okullar ve farklı spor kulüplerindeki adolesanlardan her yaş grubundan spor yapan ve yapmayan 20 kız, 20 erkek toplam 80 birey değerlendirildi. Bireylerin boy uzunluğu ve vücut ağırlığı ölçüldü ve otur-uzan testi ile esnekliği değerlendirildi. Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the differences of flexibility test results among 320 adolescents who did and did not do regular sports in regards to gender and age. Materials and methods: A total of 320 healthy individuals, 160 girls and 160 boys, within the age range of 13 to 17 years were evaluated. Forty girls and 40 boys, totally 80 adolescents were evaluated in all age groups. Half of the subjects regularly performed sporting activities while the other half did not. The height and weight of the subjects were measured and flexibility was determined by the sit and reach test in randomly selected adolescent individuals from different secondary and high schools and sport clubs. Results: Girls that did regular sports were more flexible in all age groups; while flexibility was higher in boys that did regular sports only in the 16 years old age group (p0.05).
