Özet

Vertebra kmklan sıklıkla büyük travmalar sonucu meydana gelitNörolojik defisitveya oluşabilecek deformite riskleri nedeniyle diğer tanklara oranla yüksek mortalité ve morbiditeye neden olabilen hınklardır. Hastalann yaşam kalitelerini etkileyen en önemli faktör ise uygulanacak tedavinin zamanlanması ve şeklidir. Bu çalışmada 1990 ile 1996 yıllan arasında kliniğimizde cerrahi olarak tedavi edilen 460 vertebra kmğı vakasının retrospektif'analizini yaparak bu kmklarda uyguladığımız tedavi yöntemlerini değerlendirdik

Abstract

Fractures of the vertebral column resulting from gross trauma carry the risk of neurological impairment and formation of deformity which causes greater rate of morbidity and mortality when compared to other fractures of the skeletal system. Timing and method of treatment for these fractures are the main factors effecting the quality of living of the patient for the rest of his life. With this study performing a retrospective analysis on the 460 vertebral fracture cases treated surgically between 1990 and 1996 in our department we assessed modalities and principles of treatment for these fractures
