Abstract
In the studies done on the original concrete samples, the corrosion rates of reinforced steel in the concrete have been determined for various chlorine concentration and the minimum limit values of chlorine causing corrosion have been reported. In this study, the effect of PKÇ/B 32.5 R cement provided from various cement factories on the corrosion potentia in the reinforced concrete structures has been investigated. Corrosion Potentials of samples were measured according to ASTM-C876-91 along 90 days. Saturated Cu/CuSO4 was used as the reference electrode in the measurement of corrosion potential. The change on the corrosion potential versus time has been drawn on the diagrams to determine weather the steel active or passive. The electrode potential values have been determined as -0.526, -0.454, -0.447, -0.496 and -0,360 V at the end of 90th days. The electrode potential of only one sample has been determined in the active-passive zone, others have stayed in the active zone from the corrosion point. The corrosion rates of reinforced steel used in the concrete structures have been qualitatively determined with the measurements of potential versus time.
