Abstract

The term chance is frequently used in physics, biology, philosophy and other sciences and it is one of the subjects that have been much discussed. Because of its importance have We will firstly show the place of the term "chance" in the doctrine of necessity of Aristotle the first teacher and Farabi, second teacher and then to make a short comparison between their opinions. Although these two philosophers' metaphysics is based on necessity, nevertheless they speak of chance as something essential. But, it seems, as accidental status of the things. Yet they also seem to have used the term "chance" a for the events with unknown causes.
