Abstract
Nasr al-Dîn al-Tüsf s Religion-Philosophy Relations Reflecting to Science/ Wisdom Classification Tradition of classifying sciences, started with Aristotle's classification as theoretical, practical and poetic, was continued by Muslim philosophers. This tradition is important in showing sciences' topics, contents, and relations with each other. Also it expresses the philosopher's understanding of science, point of view, and handling the topics. The place and weight of these religious and philosophical sciences in these classifications give clues about the philosopher's understanding of religion and philosophy, his perspective to religion-philosophy relations. For this reason, the tradition of classifying sciences is important to understand the philosopher's comprehension of general philosophy. In this article, Nasîrüddîn Tûsî's classification of sciences and approach to religion-philosophy relations in relation to this will be studied. Tûsî, educated by the line of teachers of Avicenna philosophy, was from the philosophy concept that was restructured by Gazzali's critics. This study is thought to be important in understanding Tûsî's perspective, who has effected Sunni and Shiite Muslim world with his works, in terms of philosophy and religion-philosophy relations for the period after Gazzali.
