Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışma, ASA I-II grubu 60 olguda etomidatla ilgili enjeksiyon ağrısı üzerine düşük doz tiopentonun etkisini araştırmak için çift kör yöntemle gerçekleştirildi. Gereç ve Yöntem: Olgular rastgele iki gruba ayrıldı. İV 4 ml etomidat enjeksiyonundan önce grup I'e (n=30) 4 ml iv %0.9'lık NaCI; grup II'ye (n=30) 4 ml iv %2.5'luk tiopenton verildi ve ağrı olup olmadığı soruldu. Test solüsyonundan önce ve etomidat enjeksiyonundan sonra sistolik arteryel basınç ve kalp atım hızı kaydedildi. Abstract

Purpose: This study was performed in 60 cases (ASA I-II) in a double-blind fashion to investigate the effect of low dose thiopentone on injection pain associated with etomidate. Material and method: Cases were randomly assigned to two groups. Patients in group I (n=30) were injected with 4 ml 0.9% NaCI iv, and those in group II (n=30) were injected with 4 ml 2.5% thiopentone iv before the injection of 4 ml etomidate iv, and asked whether they experienced any pain. Systolic arterial pressure and heart rate were recorded before injection of test solution and after etomidate injection. Results: Increase in systolic arterial pressure was significant (p0.05).
