Abstract

Possession or appropriation state as an insatiable desire, which haunts the human reality in the search for a core for self-existence ( authenticity) is an exterior expression of being passionless toward the other. Passionless intention, taking shape on the basis of knowing, comprehending, unravel-ling, exhausting and identifying, exhausts the other by digesting him in the own ego of the one intending to possess the other in terms of capturing the other and taking possession of him, therefore defining all the rights of the other based on the possessor's own self. Exhausting all the existences and others inside the ego results in the possessor's self-exhaustion in the World created by himself and his impossibility to be expounded as freedom. Ex-haustion of the possessing one together with the possessed one is a sign for the human' s self-condemnation to the fate sealed by himself in terms of human existence's hiding his self-freedom from himself. Is it possible to get rid of this condemnation and transform the fate to the fatelessness? Sartre's answer is a call to abolish the sovereignty of fatelessness, transformation to authenticity or dream of possession, which chooses the freedom as the core value and determines itself as non-being in its uncertain existence, and to feel the self as an individual in an openness to witness the other freely. In this study, the free decision of witnessing the other (İshak), which is expounded in Kierkegaard's İbrahim figure's story of climbing to be himself, to a relation un mediated by the absolute (freedom) on the basis of Sartre's call, will be traced.
