Özet

Bu yazıda altı aydır devam eden kilo kaybı ve ateş yakınmalarıyla başvuran, diş çekimini takiben infektif endokardit geliştiği saptanan 12 yaşında bir olgu sunuldu. Konjenital kalp hastalığı ve romatizmal kapak hastalığı erken dönemde tanınmayan, adolesan dönemde infektif endokardit ve tromboflebitle prezente olan bu olgu ile sağlam çocuk izleminin önemi vurgulandı.

Abstract

Here we report a case of infective endocarditis that had a recent history of dental procedure and complaints of weight loss and fever for six months. We wanted to emphasize the importance of well-child follow-up as this patient had been underdiagnosed for congenital heart disease and rheumatic valve disease in childhood. Consequently, he was presented with infective endocarditis and thrombophlebitis in adolescence.
