Abstract

This study was performed in a textile factory in Kayseri andessentially process improvement was made with the aim ofusing the resources such as labour, material and equipmentin a most efcient way in accordance with the capacity. Thebottleneck points in the production line that prevent theproductive work of the factory were determined and tried tobe eliminated. In this context, the current assembly line wasbalanced and the efects of the allowable improvements onthe manufacturing system were analyzed using simulation. The current and future state simulation models were runand the outputs of the both models were compared. Thecurrent resources were also used in the future state simulationmodel without using any additional resource. When theannual production quantities of the current and future statesimulation models were compared, it was seen that theproposed model s outputs were more than the current one swith the ratio of %47. It was foreseen that this rise could efectthe productivity of the frm and the probable managerialdecisions. Finally, limitations of this study and the researchareas are pointed out for future research on this subject.
