Özet

Turizm sektörü günümüzde dünyanın en hızlı büyüyen sektörlerinden biri haline gelmiştir. Sektörün gelişimiylebirlikte ülke ekonomileri üzerinde beklenen olumlu etkileri önem arz etmektedir. Bununla birlikte turizmin malakışını teşvik edebilir bir özelliğe sahip olması ülke dış ticareti için dikkat çekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacıturizmin uluslararası ticaret üzerindeki etkisini analiz etmektir. Çalışmada gelen turist sayısının ihracat ve ithalatdeğişkenlerini üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Değişkenler Türkiye örnekleminde 2012:1-2019:3 dönemine aitçeyreklik veriler kullanılarak ARDL Sınır Testi Yaklaşımı yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilensonuçlara göre uzun dönemde turizmin ithalatı istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir şekilde pozitif yönlü olarak etkilediğitespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, turizmin ihracat üzerindeki uzun dönemli etkisine dair anlamlı bir ilişki tespitedilememiştir.

Abstract

Today, the tourism industry has become one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. The expected positive effects on the country's economies are important with the development of the sector. However, it is remarkable that tourism has a feature that can encourage the flow of goods for foreign trade. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of tourism on international trade. In the study, the effect of the number of incoming tourists on export and import variables was examined. Turkey sample of the 2012: 1-2019: 3 period using quarterly data were analyzed with the help of the ARDL Bound Testing Approach. According to the results of the study, it has been determined that tourism has a significant positive effect on imports in the long term. In addition, no significant relationship has been identified in the impact of tourism on exports.
