Abstract
Objective: Since the advent of Covid-19, the number of publications on the subject has increased significantly. The aim of this study is to evaluate the 100 most cited publications on Covid-19 in the field of anesthesiology and resuscitation in terms of their bibliometric properties Materials and Methods: For this descriptive cross-sectional study, " the first 100 publications with the most citations were determined in the "Advanced Mode" feature of the "Institute of Scientific Information Web of Science" by using suitable keywords such as "Pandemic”, "Covid-19", "Covid-2019", "SARS-coV-2" . The Kruskal-Wallis test and the Mann Whitney U-test were used in the comparison of the groups. Results: As of October 26 2020, it was determined that there are 842 publications available on Covid-19 in the field of anesthesiology and reanimation. While the most frequently cited study had 220 citations, the lowest number of citations was determined to be five. The first three focus areas of the 106 most cited studies on Covid-19 were protection from Covid-19 (24%), Covid-19 strategies (23%), and experience and recommendations about Covid-19 (19%). The journals with the highest number of citations were Anesthesia and Analgesia (24%), Anesthesia (21%) and British Journal of Anesthesia (17%), respectively. Conclusion: Our study is the first to evaluate and analyze the first 106 most cited studies on Covid-19 in the anesthesiology and reanimation literature. In our study; focal points, research hotspots and important issues in this field are presented in terms of countries, journals, institutions, authors, terms and keywords. Prevention, strategy, experience and precautions were the most focused topics.
