Özet

İmam Şâfiînin İslam düşüncesindeki yeri öteden beri bir takım çevrelerde tartışma konusu olmuştur. Bu çalışmada onun yaşadığı ortam vedönemden hareketle düşünce dünyası belirginleştirilmeye ve meşhureseri er-Risâleye yansıması ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Sonuç itibariyle Şâfiînin bir takım bilimsel kaygılarla yola çıktığı, dönemindekibilimsel kaosu engelleme, fikrî birliği ve nasların otoritesini sağlamadüşüncesiyle hareket edip yöntemini teorik olarak mezkûr esaslar üzerinde temellendirmeye çalıştığı söylenebilir.

Abstract

The role and place of Imam al-Shafii in Islamic thought has beencriticised by some scholars for a long time. In this study, we tried tofocus on his way of thought which based on the context of the period inwhich he lived (d.204/811), and the impacts of this environment on hisfamous book al-Resalah . As a result, it would be said that al-Shafiiset rules to prevent a scientific chaos in his time and defended Sunnahvigorously as a sound evidence in extracting ahkaam/adjudications ,as well as a means to provide unity of thinking. In other words, al-Shafiiformed his methodology on the foundations of the matters which werementioned above.
