Özet

Ekstrakraniyal internal karotis arterin anevrizması oldukça ender görülen ve yaşamı tehdit edici komplikasyonlar oluşturabilen bir patolojidir. Özellikle orofarinks ve kranial sinir tutulumu olan geniş anevrizmaların potansiyel strok ve rüptür riski olması nedeniyle cerrahi tedavi tercih edilir.Cerrahi tedavi uzun dönem sonuçları açısından tatmin edicidir. Yazımızda ekstrakraniyal internal karotis arter anevrizması nedeniyle cerrahi tedavi uyguladığımız bir olgu sunulmuştur.

Abstract

Aneurysms of the extracranial carotid arteries are quite uncommon and they can cause life threatening complications. Owing to the potential risk of stroke and rupture in the large aneurysms, which were involving the oropharinx and cranial nerves, surgical treatment has been preferred. The results of the surgery have been satisfactory for the long term survival. In this paper we report of a patient whom we operated for his extracranial internal carotid artery aneurysm.
