Surgical treatment of arterio venous malformation in the leg: A case report

Özet

Özet 20 yaşında bayan hasta son iki yıldır belirginleşen sol bacakta şişlik ve ağrı şikayeti ile hastaneye yatırıldı. Yapılan muayene ve ön tetkiklerin ardından anjiografi çekilen hastada Arteriyo-Venöz Malformasyon (AVM) tespit edildi. Yapılan cerrahi işlemde afferent ve efferent damar sistemi tamamen çıkarılırken bacağın arteryel sistem bütünlüğü korundu. Operasyon sonrası dönemde iskemik semptomu ve şikayeti olmayan hastanın çekilen Manyetik Rezonans Anjiografi (MRA)'sinde lezyonun tamamen kaybolduğu görüldü. Bacaktaki AVM'da cerrahi etkin bir tedavi yöntemidir. (Damar Cer Der 2007;16(2):39-44)

Abstract

Twenty years old girl hospitalized with the Arterio-Venous Malformation (AVM) compliants in the left leg which was propagated in the last two years. After the examination and initial investigations anjiography performed and AVM is confirmed. With the surgical intervention afferent and efferent vascular portions are excised totally and leg’s arterial vascular patency is preserved. After the operation period there was no ischemic compliants and symptoms in our patient and with the performed Magnetic Rezonans Anjiography (MRA) it is confirmed that the AVM is vanished. The surgery is an effective therapeutical modality in AVM which is localized in the lower extermities. (Turkish J Vasc Sur 2007;16(2):39-44)
