Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, bir eğitim ve araştırma hastanesinde çalışan hemşirelerin periferik intravenöz kateter (PİK) uygulamalarına bağlı olarak gelişen flebit hakkındaki bilgi ve tutumlarının belirlenmesidir.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan soru formu kullanılarak, en az bir yıldır hastanede çalışan 269 (% 77) gönüllü hemşire ile yapılan tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte bir araştırmadır. Çalışma verileri 1-30 Nisan 2012 tarihleri arasında toplanmıştır. Soru formu hemşirelerin tanıtıcı bilgileri ve güncel rehberlere göre flebit bilgisi ve tutumu sorularından oluşmuştur. Abstract

Objective: The aim of the study was to determine the knowledge and attitudes of the nurses working in a training and research hospital on phlebitis related to peripheral intravenous catheters (PIC).Material and Methods: This cross-sectional and descriptive study was performed on 269 (77%) volunteer nurses who were on the job for at least one year, by using a questionnaire which was developed by the researchers. The study data were collected between 1-30 April 2012. The questionnaire form included the nurses demographics (age, education degree, units they worked, etc.) and the knowledge and attitude about phlebitis regarding to the current guidelines.
